February 10, 2009 - Nashville, TN - With a passion for encouraging believers and creating music with a combination of substance and style, the songwriting duo of Chris and Conrad are ready to reach the masses with their self-titled debut project on VSR Music Group. Set to release May 5th, the project will be distributed by EMI CMG Distribution.

Comprised of Chris Kuti and Conrad Johnson, Chris and Conrad will soon be heard on radio stations nationwide with the release of their first single, "Lead Me to the Cross," going for adds March 2nd. "Lead Me to the Cross," written by Brooke Fraser, was originally featured on Hillsong United's 2007 project All of the Above and ever since, has been a mainstay worship song in churches across the nation.

Chris and Conrad's version of the song is off to a fantastic start with airplay support coming a month early from mega-station KSBJ in Houston. "When times get tough, people tend to gravitate toward the Cross," explains Jim Beeler, KSBJ's Music Director. "This is a timely, great-sounding song to help lead them there."

From all of the unique songs featured on their debut, Conrad Johnson shares why "Lead Me to the Cross" was chosen as their first single. "Through leading worship at a number of camps this past summer, God used the lyrics to remind us to daily 'rid me of myself' and this is the only way for each believer to live out the purpose they've been made for," he explains.

"It was at that point we felt there was nothing more to be said about this struggle," Johnson continues. "We simply wanted to agree with the very prayer that is found within the song. It is a song that encourages us in our relationships with Christ each and every time we play it live, and was a natural addition to the overall theme of the record."

With this essential theme woven throughout Chris and Conrad, this talented pair offers each song as a refreshing perspective to everyday struggles in life and faith. When they are off the road and at their home base of central Florida, Chris and Conrad are involved in making music ministry happen on a weekly basis. Chris leads worship for the college-age service at his church, while Conrad is a producer/engineer at a sound studio.

Mike Weaver, frontman for Big Daddy Weave and one of the co-writers on Chris and Conrad, shares, "Over the past couple of years I've become a huge fan of these guys. I've considered it a privilege getting to know them. They are such strong songwriters and worship leaders to be so young!"

Returning the favor, Chris has also offered his songwriting talents, writing the tune "We Want the World to Hear," featured on the current Big Daddy Weave CD.

With their years of musical and ministry experience and inspirations by everyone from Jars of Clay and David Crowder Band to U2, Chicago, and The Police, there is no doubt that Chris and Conrad's thought-provoking music will reach listeners, old and new, with the message of liberation.

Chris and Conrad was co-produced by David Garcia (four tracks) and Greg Hill and Roy Mitchell-Cardenas (seven tracks). They are managed by 220 Entertainment.
